What’s It All About

Ever since I remember I’ve always enjoyed eating. That would explain my almost constant struggle with trying to keep my weight in check – exercising more doesn’t really help, it just gives me an excuse to eat more. Just in case you get the impression that I’m this massive guy weighing over 300lbs, I’m not.  At 5’6″ I weigh in at about 170 lbs, but it takes work.

Over the years as I lived in different countries and experienced different cusines, I’ve really come to appreciate all kinds of food – food from different countries, street food, gourmet food, and yes even food at chain restaurants – finding something to enjoy about it all. You could say that food has become something of a growing obsession. I’m always looking to try new restaurants and try different recipes, many times inventing something from just an initial thought.

More recently I’ve come to appreciate wine, particularly red wine. I really don’t do white! I actually didn’t start drinking until my mid 20s. Working in banking in England gets you started, it’s a weekly ritual. I blame my old boss for the wine thing and I thank him for that. The man has an amazing, no envious wine collection. He taught me the basics and we drank great wine together.

Among my friends I am usually the guy with the restaurant recommendations, the person who cares most that the food is great and has the strongest opinions which is what got me to this blog. It just seemed like the natural thing to do.

My vision for this blog is to basically discuss nything that relates to a foodie lifestyle, because it is a lifestyle. There’ll be restaurant reviews (mainly in New York City and New Jersey, though I’ll include others from my travels), recipes of things I dream up (and I’ll tell you how they turn out), wine reviews and anything else related to food and wine.

  1. Wonderful post. I often enjoy stuff relating to this. Next time you need to write some more on this in conjunction with food or similar to that.

  2. Couldn’t be written any better. Reading this post reminds me of my old roommate! He always kept talking about this. I will forward this article to him. Pretty sure he will have a good read. Thanks for sharing!
